The short of it: incredible bar on a budget for anyone that needs a very high weight capacity, however, it does have some drawbacks
The KlokovD bar is designed in partner with Dmitry Klokov, a former Olympic weightlifter for Russia. This bar has one of the highest weight capacities on the market with a tensile strength of 265,000. For comparison, the Rogue Ohio bar has a tensile strength of about 200,000.
Both the Ohio bar and the KlokovD power bar have similar price points ($350-$400), the tensile strength is not the only place where the KlokovD power bar shines. It also has bearings instead of bushings, giving it an even smoother spin and feel
Enough talk… what are the pros and cons?
Pros:
-Very affordable for such a high end bar (comparable bars are $700+)
-Upgraded bearings over bushings
-One of the highest weight capacities on the market
-Sleek look/stainless steel finish
Cons:
-Knurling is not great
-Hard to find
-Not customizable with colors/styles (something that has become important to people purchasing high end barbells)
What does JEV think? If you’re using this bar as a replacement for a ~$700+ barbell, it is incredible and an absolute steal. If you’re using it to replace a rogue Ohio bar or something comparable, I would not pick this bar mostly because you will not be able to really enjoy many of the benefits of it and the knurling is a bit of a detractor, that is, unless you like softer knurling if you like a power bar with softer knurling, this is hands down one of the best ones we’ve come across
