Post weight trees are either a triangle shape or some type of post with pegs coming off of it but this one is quite unique. It is shaped more like a pyramid and is formed by three straight pieces connecting from the base to the top central ring
This unique design enables more weight plate storage and barbell storage (using the center ring), however, it does take up a bit more of a footprint than a standard triangle tree
Pros:
-8 posts means you can put each size (45, 35, etc.) onto their own posts (or even have two posts for the 45s!)
-Design is visually appealing
-Barbell storage (is ideal for a curl bar)
-Decent weight capacity (~450lbs)
Cons:
-1” posts so would probably want to get Olympic adapters if you have Olympic plates (not required, but looks better)
-If you load one side too heavy the posts will bend in a bit
-If you take all the weight of one side and not the others it may start to lean/get unbalanced
-Cannot be used for bumper plates
What does JEV think about this? I think it’s great for someone when either has a larger gym and wants somewhere to store some metal plates for that certain area of the gym, or, someone who has a smaller space, only wants to use metal plates, but likes having all of the different sizes plates on separate posts. Based on my sales most customers will lean more towards a triangle tree or upright post with pegs.
