Before and after of a done-for-you garage home gym build in Grosse Ile, Michigan

Before: Bringing the Gym Home

Mike trains hard. He works out with a trainer regularly and has built real strength doing it.

The problem was time. Mike travels often, and between work and a full schedule, the drive to the gym was starting to cost him sessions. Some weeks, getting there just did not happen, and his training was the thing that slipped.

He had a garage space ready to go, with the flooring already in, but not much else. What he wanted was simple. A real setup so he, his wife, and their sons could train at home whenever getting to the gym was not an option.

Goal: A Complete Setup in the Garage

Mike wanted his garage to do everything his gym did.

A strong all-in-one station for pressing and full-body work. Cable movements like pulldowns and rows. Dedicated leg work. A rowing machine and cardio for conditioning. And free weights he could grow into and go heavy with.

Most of all, he wanted a space the whole family could share, so his trainer-style workouts could happen right at home.

Build: Built Around the Space He Had

We started the way we always do, by understanding how Mike and his family wanted to train.

His garage was a long, well-proportioned room with good ceiling height, and the rubber flooring was already installed. We built the plan around it, laying out the equipment so everything had room to be used and the space still felt open. Here is what went into his build:

  • An all-in-one strength station for pressing and full-body work
  • A lat pulldown and low row for guided cable training
  • A leg curl and extension machine for controlled leg work
  • A rowing machine for full-body conditioning
  • An elliptical for low-impact cardio
  • Free weights along the wall for pressing and accessory work

And here is the part that makes it done-for-you. His Forged build included:

  • Professional design consult
  • White glove delivery and full installation
  • Forged Owner's Program service visit
  • Extended protection

This is the kind of build people choose when they want their trainer-quality workout to happen at home, not just a piece or two in the corner.

After: The Gym, At Home

Mike never had to become the general contractor for his own gym. One plan, one install date, one team in his driveway. We handled layout, sourcing, delivery, and install, so he walked into a finished gym, not a pile of boxes.

Now his garage does everything his gym does, and the drive is gone. When he cannot get out, he trains at home, and the time he used to lose in the car is time he spends lifting, often with his sons. His wife trains there too. What used to be an empty room with flooring is now a complete gym built around how the family lives.

That is the goal of every build we do. You stay focused on your life, we handle the work, and when you walk into the room, it feels like it was always meant to be there.
