Before: A Lot on His Plate
Ty is a professional fighter, so training is not a hobby for him. It is part of the job.
But he had a lot going on. He was renovating his home, and he lives with and cares for his grandpa. So disappearing to a commercial gym for an hour or two pulled him away from the people and the work that mattered most. The last thing he wanted was the usual home gym headache: weeks of shipping delays, random deliveries at odd times, and a pile of boxes to assemble himself.
Here is how Ty described the experience once it was done:
"Seamless experience from start to finish. They truly take their time to make sure your gym looks and flows the best it can."
His full review is further down. First, here is how the build came together.
Goal: A Real Gym, No Compromise
Ty wanted one thing: a legit, no-compromise training space in his two-car garage.
He wanted to squat, press, deadlift, pull heavy, hit conditioning, and do accessory work for back, chest, and legs. A true all-in-one setup.
He also wanted privacy. Training at home meant he could put in the work on his own time, without the crowds and the wait for equipment at a commercial gym.
Most of all, he wanted to walk into his garage and have a real gym waiting for him. No project managing. No DIY. Just train.
Build: One Call, Two Days
We started the way we always do, with one quick design call. The space was a standard two-car garage. About 20 by 20, with 8 foot ceilings. We mapped a training zone of about 18 by 19 feet inside it. Enough room to lift heavy and move around, while keeping the garage functional.
By the end of that one call, Ty had a clear plan. The full equipment list, the layout, the color scheme, and the install date. Then he went back to his renovation while we prepped everything at our warehouse.
On install day, the truck showed up and our team got to work. Here is what went in:
- Commercial grade rubber flooring across the whole training area
- Multicolor half rack
- Adjustable bench
- 230 pound bumper plate set on a plate tree
- Standard barbell, trap bar, and multi-grip bar
- Full 5 to 100 pound dumbbell set on two heavy-duty racks
- Forged dual cable functional trainer
- AR-636 rower
- Battle rope
- Kettlebell set
And here is the part that makes it done-for-you. Ty's build was handled end to end, including:
- Professional design consult
- White glove delivery and full installation
- Forged Owner's Program service visit
- Extended protection
- 1 year of our Momentum supplement pack
This is the kind of build people choose when they want their garage to feel like a private training facility, not a starter home gym.
Equipment spotlight: Forged Dual Cable Functional Trainer
This is the piece Ty uses for rows, presses, pulldowns, and accessory work without needing three extra machines. When a garage has to be both parking and training space, we almost always build around a unit like this.
After: Ten Steps From His Door
From Ty's side, it was simple. The truck showed up, our team assembled everything correctly, cleaned up the space, and handed him the keys. He never had to stop and become the general contractor for his own gym.
The whole thing was a two-day transformation. Now he has a pro-level place to train ten steps from his door. He stayed focused on his home and his family, and when he walks into the garage, it just works.
What Ty Had to Say
Right after the build, Ty shared this with his own friends and family:
"Huge shout out to my friends at Forged Fitness Equipment for working with me to build out this project. It was a massive help to be able to focus on renovating my home while this was professionally installed. I'm beyond impressed with the quality of their work. If you have a lot on your plate, highly recommend getting a hold of them."
Then he left us this review on Google:
"Seamless experience from start to finish. The team was very helpful in the design process and always quick to respond and make adjustments. They were knowledgeable about what made sense for my space, even talking me out of more expensive options and unnecessary pieces, making it clear it wasn't just about making a profit, but giving me the best gym for my space.
The installation team was right on par with their professionalism and very friendly. They truly take their time to make sure your gym looks and flows the best it can. The space I gave them had very uneven walls and they cut the tiles in so well, I would have thought they laid the floor professionally. I highly recommend working with the Forged Fitness team."
That is the goal of every build we do. You stay focused on your life, we handle the work, and when you walk into the room, it feels like it was always meant to be there.
